Alex is a Texas native who recently finished his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and computer science at the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently in Nijmegen, sponsored by the Netherlands-America Foundation as a Fulbright Research Scholar. He will be working with Dr. Hadie Adams, continuing an brain tumor MRI segmentation project begun in 2010 with Dr. Adams at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Neurosurgery under Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa.
In the coming year, Alex plans to study the effects of scanners and contrast timing on image quality, as well as the effects of extent of resection on survival in Glioblastoma patients (project together with Dr. Hadie Adams and Dr. E. Kurt).
